How To Make Up With My Ex

I know how hard it can be when you split up with a loved one. Emotional thoughts keep coming in to your mind no matter how hard you try and blot them out. Sometimes you just have to, but it isn't easy. Truth be told, often neither side really wants to be the first to split up. Human nature follows a pattern in these situations, I believe anyway.

It starts with disagreements. Everybody has those, but most people can get over them, and they don't tend to last long, and they when they happen infrequently, that's normal. But when couples argue more often and intensely, without resolving their differences, that's the danger sign to step back and take a look at what's happening to the relationship.

Both partners wait for the other, hoping at this stage, that the other will do something, such as say something to calm matters down and restore peace. You have to recognize when the emotional temperature is in danger of rising, and stop it at that point, because if you don't, you will be sucked into a heated exchange, perhaps saying things you will later regret.

My point is, don't let personal pride get in the way of being willing to make some allowances, even to say sorry if necessary, to your partner, before the situation runs out of control. By then it's too late.

Look for ways of coping with rising emotions, by channelling the energy somewhere else. Even trying to smile can be enough to stop you arguing.

Be open and honest always in dealing with your partner. Lies and deceit always come back to haunt those who are tempted to go in that direction.
